The cost of laying tiles on a roof is obviously dependent on the type of tile, but this is just part of the overall cost.
Other elements to consider in addition to the cost of laying the tiles are:
- Roofing accessories.
These include but are not limited to ridge edging tiles, vent tiles (for the heating and fosse vents) and the ventilation required for heat dissipation when the loft has been converted to living or storage space.
- Waterproofing / Flashing
This is required around the chimney, valleys and where a roof joins an existing building. This is generally done with zinc.
- Working at height and material handling.
For safety, scaffolding has to be erected and the use of a telehandler for the lifting of materials onto the roof.
- If it is a renovation there will be the removal and disposal of the old tiles.
These are costs that will need to be added to the laying of tiles.
Therefore, only an estimated cost can be given here but it is a good starting point.
